World Cup 1986 - Day Twenty Six

Wednesday 25 June 1986

Semi Final
West Germany 2 France 0
Brehme 9, Voller 89

Semi Final
Argentina 2 Belgium 0
Maradona 51, 63

Semi finals day - and ITV kicked off at 7pm for West Germany v France. A considerably less eventful semi than the one four years previously and the Germans were through to their umpteenth major final.

Over to the BBC for the 11pm game and as Argentina saw off Belgium, England fans could only think of what might have been. New villain Maradona was now perilously close to taking the Golden Boot off our Gary which would have added insult to insult.
