World Cup 1986 - Day Six

Thursday 5 June 1986

Into the second set of games we go. ITV had the big name game, as Italy and Argentina battled for a 1-1 draw live, while showing highlights of France and the Soviet Union also drawing 1-1. Argentina, France and the Soviet Union now looking comfortable for the second round.

Oddly the BBC's coverage only came on at midnight for the last half hour of Bulgaria v South Korea. Bulgaria did not take their chance with only a draw, with Argentina to come!
