World Cup 1986 - Day Five

Wednesday 4 June 1986

Today was the last batch of first round games.

BBC showed the second half of West Germany drawing with Uruguay at 7.40pm - for some reason, preferring Wogan to the first half, and then the late kick off for 11pm for Scotland live on ITV losing to Denmark.

Overall, quite a low key start to the world cup with nine of the twelve games having two or less goals. Very disappointing for the three British sides, with one goal, one draw and two losses between them.
